Hypnosis for Sports
- Have you hit a plateau in your sport?
- Are you sabotaging your result?
- Not achieving your goals?
- Suffering pain through injury?
- Fear of failure?
Hypnosis has been used in sports for many years to help athletes to overcome such things as fear of failure or fear of success. Athletes have often talked about being in ‘the zone’ and the feeling of total focus and control whilst they are in the zone. Imagine being able to get yourself into this state at will, and to be able to perform at your highest.
In order to obtain a new result, you need to change the way you think. It is not unusual for an athlete to be very black and white in their thinking and therefore have an all or nothing attitude in many aspects of their lives. As such Athletes can suffer from things like binge drinking and or gambling. Hypnosis can assist in breaking these addictive patterns by assisting the athlete to think of the future and not just the here and now.
Hypnosis for Life
- Is anxiety holding you back?
- Lacking motivation?
- Tired of smoking?
- Ready to lose that extra weight?
- Having trouble sleeping?
Hypnotherapy can be up to 80% affective when used for stopping smoking. This is one of the highest success rates of any method. At Clinical Sports Hypnosis we also give you extra tools to take away to assist you in stopping smoking for good.
Hypnotherapy is also used with great success in assisting people in losing weight. Hypnosis is utilised to change eating patterns and to increase motivation to move more and to exercise in order to help burn off the unwanted weight.
Hypnosis is an extremely relaxing state to be in. By changing your sleep hygiene and night time routines, hypnosis can assist in aiding you to sleep comfortably and completely the entire night through so you can wake fully refreshed and alert and ready for the day ahead.

From the Course
Rainfall for the Week: 45.5mm, Rainfall for 2024: 981.0mm, Dam: 100%, Green Speed: 10feet
They predicted the rain to come, and they were on the mark with steady rain falling as the course team went about their work on Thursday. It was much needed after the warmer start to spring and the constant winds really drying out playing surfaces, requiring nightly irrigation of fairways and tees which we don’t usually employ until mid-November but required earlier to maintain moisture levels in the soil profile so that the turf plant wasn’t put under any stress. This rainfall will replenish moisture levels in the soil profiles and restock the dam of what we used on the course earlier in the week.
Aeration of tee complexes has begun this week with coring of these surfaces completed on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th and 18th. The cores removed during this process have been smashed up and fertiliser has been applied to these tees, with the rainfall washing in the fertiliser free of charge!
The rainfall has also topped up the 9th pond and the overflow grate has been pushed forward so that the water level will have to rise higher before it spills into this drainage pit. This means more water will be held in this pond, not a significant amount, but the water level will be higher, and the appearance of this pond will look better while we are pumping the water from it up to the 6th creek. The water is flowing in the 6th creek again, now that the pond has been topped up.
Repair work on the 14th and 17th collars was performed last week to replace turf that didn’t establish well enough before the winter period earlier this year. When we went to returf these areas earlier in the year with the assistance of our volunteers, we received 60mm of rain in about an hour. The work couldn’t be performed and meant the turf stayed rolled up for an extra day which turned this turf yellow. Couch can recover and has in the past, but unfortunately not all the turf did, and we were left with small bare areas in these sections. The new turf got through the warm sunny weekend well, and additional turf has been installed on the 4th and 7th aprons to repair bare areas after spraying out some kikuyu weeds.
The coverage on our collars is the best it’s ever been after a winter period. The ropes and posts at the front of the greens play a major role in removing the constant traffic of buggies away from the pinch points between greens and bunkers that exist, given the design of our greens complexes. So, while it does take some extra effort to push your buggy around the outside of the front bunkers, the benefits are visible with the improvement of these playing surfaces after winter.
Volunteers were on course Monday morning raking bunkers for the Ladies Charity golf day, gurney work continued on concrete pathways, practice nets were cleaned/checked/repaired, and work on the simulator studio continued. Thank you to all those that attended! Your continued support is always appreciated and is a big contribution to the weekly maintenance and presentation of the course for your fellow members.
Greens will be cut and rolled on Saturday morning and cut again on Sunday morning.
Happy Golfing!
The Course Team.
Men’s Club Championship – Round One Qualifying
The first round of the 36-hole qualifying for the Men’s Club Championship was played on Saturday 21st September.
Scoring was tricky with the greens rolling faster than over recent months, with warmer weather and a period of no rain, and the course back to play the ball as it lies after a period of preferred lies.
The top 20 scores from each grade are available via the link below, but the standout performance of the day was undoubtedly from Wil Reece who leads the top grade by 4 strokes with a fantastic even par (70) in the breezy conditions of the afternoon.
The second and final round of qualifying will take place tomorrow (Saturday 28th September) where the top 16 players from each grade will qualify for the matchplay component of the Club Championship, which commences the weekend of Saturday 12 & Sunday 13th October.
Click here for a copy of the Round One scores by grade.
With a good mix of current, past and nearly Club Champions across all grades, the 2024 Men’s Club Championship promises to be another tremendous month of golf for the Club and those competing.
Bistro 94, Food and Friends on Friday’s
The launch of Bistro 94 on Friday’s in September has been a great success, with an average attendance for the month of 120 people each Friday evening.
Tonight will see the final introductory offer of 2-for-1 meals, however the regular pub style dining event will continue for the foreseeable future with bookings now available until the end of 2024.
The relaxed pub style dining and menu have been very popular with members and the local residents of Oatlands. It has been tremendous to see so many of our neighbours visiting the Club with friends and family over the last month, with many joining the Club as social members.
The continuation of this initiatives requires the ongoing support of members and we encourage you all to join us on a Friday night for a great night of food and friendship.
As this evening continues into October, November and December, bookings are still encouraged however we have plenty of capacity for walk-ins and / or a last minute decision to stay for dinner after golf.
Thank you to all those that have attended over the last month and made the launch so successful and we hope to see more of you over the coming months!
