Friday Night Dining – Bistro 94 – Commencing September

The Club is pleased to announce the launch of a new weekly Friday night dining initiative commencing in September.

The weekly event will be called Bistro 94, and will offer a modern Australian pub style menu every Friday.

The Club’s hospitality team have been working on all aspects of this event including menu development, clubhouse ambience, service structure, and community engagement, and look forward to providing members and visitors more information over the coming month.

A fantastic menu has been developed by Chef Andrew, with over 30 menu items to choose from; including a great kids menu.

Menu testing is underway and we will be able to provide the final menu in the August 16th Enews.

We will be offering a great incentive for members and visitors for the opening month of Bistro 94 which will also be communicated in August.

We hope that members, guests and Oatlands locals will make Bistro 94 their Friday night venue of choice when we launch on Friday 6th September.

Legacy Day – Saturday 27th July

Saturday 27th July is one of the Clubs two annual fundraiser’s for Legacy Australia, the other being Digger’s Day in November.

The contribution for Legacy Day is $8pp on toop of the normal comp fee. The following provides a brief background on Legacy and the video that follows demonstrates how it can change lives.

In 1923 Legacy made a promise to help veterans’ families carry on with their lives after the loss or injury of their loved one.

It was a simple promise that Legacy keeps today; providing the same stability, guidance and assistance that a partner would normally provide to his or her family.

Today, Legacy supports 34,000 partners and children of veterans who gave their lives or health serving our country.

Our work can mean a child gets an education and a fair go, a widow is not disadvantaged and alone and a family is not torn apart by the effects of post-traumatic stress or other psychological injuries.

Since the Legacy promise was made by a soldier to his dying mate in the trenches of WW1 to “look after the missus and the kids”, Legacy has supported Australian Defence Force families in times of great need.

Captain’s Corner – Scorer Responsibility

The Responsibility of the Marker when Scoring

It is the responsibility of the player’s marker to certify and record the hole score on either the scorecard or the MiScore app, after each hole.

After each hole during the round, the marker should confirm with the player the number of strokes on that hole (including strokes played and penalty strokes) and enter that gross score on either the scorecard or the MiScore App.

When the round has ended:

  • The marker must certify the hole scores on the scorecard or MiScore App
  • If the player has had more than one marker during the round, each Marker must certify the scores for those holes where he or she was the marker.

If a marker, who is a player, knowingly certifies a wrong score for a hole (including a hole score that does not include a penalty that the marker knew the player received on that hole) the marker should be disqualified under Rule 1.2a (serious misconduct).

It remains the responsibility of the marker to record the correct score of the player.
