Membership Joining Fees to Increase 1st October 2022

With the 2022-23 Membership renewal finalised on 15th May, the Club is pleased to announce that as of this week, our Full-Playing membership category is once again at capacity (500 members) and a waitlist is again in place. The Club currently has limited spaces remaining in the 6-Day and Lifestyle categories. This is a fantastic position for the Club to be in and provides a wonderful platform for the Club as we embark on the next chapter of the Club’s future and a new Clubhouse, with facilities that will be the envy of the Greater Sydney golf industry.

As such, the Membership Committee and Board have decided to raise the Joining Fees for Club membership, for each of the three playing categories, being:

  • Full (including Intermediate 1,2 & 3)
  • 6 Day
  • Lifestyle

The increase will be 30% on the current Entrance Fees, and will come into effect on 1st October 2022.

As such, any friend or family member that joins the Club prior to 1st October, (or in the case of Full Membership, places their name on the waitlist prior to 1st October), will only be required to pay the current Joining Fee, as listed below.

Catering Pre-Orders on Saturday Shotgun Starts

Members playing in Saturday shotgun start events over winter are advised that the Club offers the chance to pre-order lunch from the Sandwich Hut or Daily Bar Menu, prior to heading out for the 7am shotgun start.

Pre-orders have long been a part of our Monday and Thursday shotgun starts, and provide members the chance to “beat the rush” of players all finishing at the same time having hit off together in the shotgun start format.

Members wishing to pre-order, simply complete an order at the Pro Shop prior to play, and the meals will then be ready for collection from the Sandwich Hut or Bar upon completion of your round.

From the Course

Rainfall for the Week: 1.0mm,  Rainfall for 2022: 1,306.0   Dam: 100%   Green Speed: 10.5 feet

The windy weather conditions have continued this week, which is great for drying the course out, but creates tough playing conditions and a messy course for everyone to play. Our game plan regarding the debris is simple. It’s out of our control when the winds are blowing, and we won’t achieve too much in these conditions, so we just wait until the winds ease and then use our blowers and vacuum to remove as much debris as possible from our playing surfaces. The pattern over the last fortnight is that we’ve had strong winds from Monday through to Wednesday, and then lighter winds on Thursday and Friday. This means our Thursday competition players have had to deal with the noise of these machines whilst playing their rounds, as we prepare the course for the weekend.

All greens were dusted on Monday as part of an ongoing program which will inevitably result in smoother, firmer and better quality putting surfaces. A combination of soil health products was also applied to the greens this week, with a wetting agent in the tank mix which will help to move water/ moisture through the soil profile and away from surfaces.

The last bunkers on the 2nd hole have been lined this week and now the task of filling them with sand begins. The front left bunker on the 11th has been filled with sand and the right hand side bunker on the 2nd will also be filled with sand by the weekend.

The middle tee pad on the 9th hole was in play for two rounds recently as a trial to see how the Zoysia played, and to gauge how fast it recovers from this play regarding any divots taken. We had planned to perform this trial earlier, but all the recent wet weather changed these plans. We will report back how the recovery progresses.

Our volunteers were on course Monday morning, preparing bunkers for the Monday competition, trimming the 6th hedges, and clubhouse maintenance. Our practice nets are an ongoing maintenance area for our volunteers. The most important part of this maintenance is securing the impact nets to the wire sides of each bay to stop golf balls going behind the nets, which could then strike the metal corner pole and propel the ball back at the player with very little time to react. To further reduce the likelihood of this occurring, our volunteers have installed foam strips over these metal poles to deaden the impact should a ball get that far.

Thank you gentlemen for all your help once again this week!

Have a good weekend,

The Course Team.

Junior Development Fundraiser Postponed

Members are advised that the JDP Fundraiser scheduled for Monday 13th June has been postponed to a later date (TBC) due to the current weather related course conditions and limited access to the golf course for carts, along with the catering labour shortage being faced by the Club on Monday’s as indicated in the Club’s weekly Enews on Friday 3rd June.

As such, the event for the day (Monday 13th June) has been changed to a standard Stableford with all guests booked in, still welcome to play.
